If you live in or near Saranac Lake, join us for the first leg of the ADK Town Hall Tour at the SLHS Auditorium at 11:00 AM Saturday, Jan 27.
In addition to refreshments and family-oriented activities, these two free town hall events will feature presentations from experts and advocates about the environmental and health impacts of road salt contamination in water supplies, and what communities and decision-makers can do to mitigate contamination.
Adirondack communities rely beautiful, thriving, clean watersheds. But road salt is threatening to contaminate our water supplies and harm our thriving ecosystems. Experts say that as much as 77% of all surface water could be contaminated by road runoff, and yet most of us don’t know about the threats that road salt contamination pose to our health and our environment.
ADK residents are invited to attend the Saranac Lake High School Auditorium at 11:00 AM on Jan. 27th and/or the Adirondack Interpretive Center in Newcomb at 6:00 PM.
Attendance is free, but RSVPs are encouraged from those who are interested in attending at https://yeswicc.com/adk.
