#SaveLIHWAP
You and I both need water to survive.
Water is a human right, and yet in the United States, 15 million people had their water shutoff in 2016. During the pandemic, over 91,000 households were saved from water shutoffs by the Low Income Household Water Assistance Program, or LIHWAP. Last year, LIHWAP helped 228,000 families in 41 states pay for critical drinking water and wastewater services that they otherwise would have lost. LIHWAP is protecting Americans’ human rights.
We need you to call on the Appropriations Committee to push the Water Access Act forward to keep LIHWAP alive and keep Americans’ water on! Thousands of Americans could have their water shut off if we don’t take action now.
