ADK Town Hall Tour: Newcomb

  • SUNY-ESF Adirondack Interpretive Center (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

If you’re a true High Peaks native, join us for the last leg of the ADK Town Hall Tour at the SUNY-ESF Adirondack Interpretive Center at 6:00 PM Saturday, Jan 27.

In addition to refreshments and family-oriented activities, these two free town hall events will feature presentations from experts and advocates about the environmental and health impacts of road salt contamination in water supplies, and what communities and decision-makers can do to mitigate contamination.
Adirondack communities rely beautiful, thriving, clean watersheds. But road salt is threatening to contaminate our water supplies and harm our thriving ecosystems. Experts say that as much as 77% of all surface water could be contaminated by road runoff, and yet most of us don’t know about the threats that road salt contamination pose to our health and our environment.

ADK residents are invited to attend the Saranac Lake High School Auditorium at 11:00 AM on Jan. 27th and/or the Adirondack Interpretive Center in Newcomb at 6:00 PM.

POESTENKILL PFAS WATER WEBINAR

RSVP HERE: https://yeswicc.com/poestenkill

The forever chemical called PFAS was found in Algonquin Middle School's water in January, but the state has ignored it and there has been no town-wide testing to address this threat to Poestenkill's water supply.

Poestenkill residents need to know about what is going on, how to keep their water clean, and what should be done. Local nonprofit WICC is hosting a free educational webinar for residents about what is going on and what our Upstate Water Contamination Project is doing to help.
