The 2022-2023 year was WICC’s most impactful one yet.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • WICC’s first Strategic Plan, with help from the Mockingbird Incubator

  • The first summer Advocacy Bootcamp

  • The launching of the Santa Ana Clean Water Initiative project

  • 1 new Board President and 1 new Executive Director

  • Maintained and created partnerships with universities, NGOs, and community organizations

HIGHLIGHTS

  • 1,000+ individuals spanning 6 different regions reached with 7 advocacy projects

  • 15 new team members hired and comprehensive Environmental Justice Strategy adopted

  • Nearly $8,000 in project grants won for anti-contamination work in Upstate New York

  • 300 copies of US People’s Report on SDGs disseminated

Year 1

A seed is planted on 8/10/2019 when WICC is first created.

  • The inaugural cohort of the Mari Copeny Scholarship for high school seniors in Flint, Newark, and Greenwich

  • First Summer Internship Program

  • Virtual Run Fast For Flint 5k during COVID

  • COVID-19 Relief Fundraiser

Our seedling organization grows and expands its impact.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Over 4,400 signatures on petitions circulated by Advocacy Team

  • High social media impact with over 170 Just Add Water podcast listens and 21,000 Instagram reach

  • 4th annual (and last, indefinitely) Run Fast For Flint 5k in Greenwich, NY

As a 501c3, our org blossoms and begins reaching for the sun.
