Elena Rubenstein

Upstate Water Contamination Project Team Member

Elena Rubenstein (she/her)  is pursuing her BA in Environmental Studies and in Philosophy, Politics and Law (PPL) at Binghamton University. Elena has 6 years of experience in New York based climate organizing, with a focus on K-12 interdisciplinary climate change education, as well as water security. With the UWCP project, Elena is responsible for communicating with Poestenkill citizens and helping to coordinate their response to PFAS contamination.

The Water Insecurity Correction Coalition is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Upstate New York. We believe access to clean water is a human right, one that people often take for granted. Through advocacy, education, and development, our goal is to ensure every citizen has access to clean water, and raise awareness of issues relating to water insecurity on both a national and global level.
